As a boat owner in Alberta, you need to have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card to use everything from a boat to a yacht. The pleasure craft operator card is also referred to as an Alberta boating license. The operator card allows residents of Alberta to operate a boat legally, regardless of the type, size of boat, age of the boat, or horsepower. It’s easy to get an operator card online and involves taking a course and exam is approved by Transport Canada and costs approximately $45 and is good for life.
